“There, there, you’re not gonna have to cry much longer”
I always kind of wonder, when they were writing the whole caprica is pregnant arc in season four, did they completely forget that she frakking snapped this baby’s neck in the miniseries?  I think doc cottle should have been just a little more concerned about her motherly potential.
#caprica six #baby killer

HELP ME I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT A CHARACTER ARC IS.
I was gonna make this a tag bomb, but tag meta is weird so I’m just gonna write it here: Let me tell you all about Caprica-Six. This is the first time in her life she’s held a child, a human child. She is fascinated. She is awed. She is in love. And she knows he’s going to die. She knows it’s going to be terrible and painful and entirely her fault, and also somehow God’s will, for this fragile baby to die horribly in less than a day.  To be crushed or starve or burn.
And that is the only thing in her world right now — not the poor mother, whose grief is so foreign to her at that point she doesn’t spare it another thought.  There’s only her and this gorgeous baby boy who’s crying until she shushes him, and she can’t save him, she can only take this sin upon herself and make it quick.  It’s not justified but it’s well-meaning.  It’s not okay but it’s sincere.  It’s something she instantly feels remorse for, no more or less than the rest of the genocide, and even with the limited amount of space she has in the series, she’s one of the few Cylons we get to see actively sorting through those feelings.
This is the first crack we ever see in her armor.  It’s the first PAIN we see on her face.  That pain and regret is our introduction to Caprica-Six, before her name, before Gaius. It’s a defining moment for her, for the Cylons even.  The writers forgot about it?  Girl, this scene is WHY HERA EXISTED. WHY LIAM EXISTED.  Why Caprica snapped her first friend and co-revolutionary’s neck to save a toddler.  She was a child herself then, still so curious and blind about so many things, but her maternal longing was consistent from day one.
(P.S. Motherly potential? She dated. Gaius. Baltar. End of post.)

THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS SO I DID NOT HAVE TO.
I literally can’t even discuss this, because there are too many flames on the side of my face, but I would like to talk about the fact that it is also implied that it was Doc Cottle’s responsibility to judge parental responsibility? 1) NOT HIS JOB. 2) HOW COULD HE KNOW ABOUT THIS? 3) OMFG NOT HIS JOB. Do you know who has a right to be a parent? Literally everyone.

Seriously, OP? SERIOUSLY?
WHAT WAS COTTLE SUPPOSED TO DO? GIVE HER A FORCED ABORTION?
FUCK YOU
