Why it’s Time for Jews to Get Over the Holocaust
Just listened to the author on YU Student radio… It is a real problem when a guy whose grandparents are holocaust survivors(apparently he told them his undeveloped opinion when he was 13…) can say that we need to detach from the importance of the holocaust.

This article is irresponsible and I can’t believe that the Beacon (a publication by Yeshiva University students) would publish it on their website. It isn’t contraversial, it is simply wrong and idiotic. Thanks to the Beacon and Binyamin Weinreich for giving fuel to every Holocaust denier, every Hipster Hitler comic, every person who dares to say “Get over it. Get over the murder and torture of six million people. You can stop funding programs now because Jews are apparently too obsessed with the Holocaust.”

I think this article actually proves the opposite of Weinreich’s purpose in writing. That we can’t get over it because people are already forgetting how important it is to our history and that it can happen again.

P.S. On the radio show, the author pretty much sounded like a bratty stuck up child without any ounce of backing for his ideas, simply that he had “this feeling”. He had an elegance of any wealthy YU student who thinks they can say anything they want because they are on top of the world.

I can’t even.

Every paragraph of his article demands a hundred rebuttals. The damn title alone deserves an angry rant. This isn’t the first time the Beacon has published something that’s raised eyebrows, but this is beyond any of that as far as I’m concerned.

I think it’s important to remember that for every idiot like Weinreich, there are thousands upon thousands of Jews who disagree. If anyone decides to tell me to “get over” the Holocaust and cites a handful of deluded Jews courting controversy, that means nothing in the face of the sources I can provide. Besides just the obvious “shut up you’re wrong.” But it certainly does give others ammunition. And there’s nothing more infuriating than goyim using Jews to get other Jews to shut up.

Also people who argue that the Holocaust was not about genocide, the specific genocide of specific groups of people, but about something “bigger” like ~statist violence~ are myopic, stupid, or deliberately revising history.

AND for my final trick, I’m just going to point out that the Holocaust has been basically sanctioned by the goyim as the one thing Jews can talk about at length (or rather, the Holocaust and Israel). Every movie involving Jews, every book, will inevitably link back to Shoah. If there aren’t dead, suffering Jews, what’s even the point? So to blame Jews for giving attention to something that a) is still immediately present in their lives, since many of us are survivors, daughters of survivors, granddaughters, people the course of whose lives have been irrevocably altered by relatives fleeing countries and resettling elsewhere, etc and b) that the goyim graciously allow us to talk about after erasing most of our other history is just, lol. I don’t know how to help you son, you a simple bitch.
